Lack of exercise deadlier than obesity

A recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that twice the fatalities occur from not getting enough exercise as from being obese. In other words, the death rate was found to be double for those who did not engage in regular exercise as compared to those struggling with obesity. This is not to say that obesity doesn’t have its own profound health risks, but not exercising was found to be worse.

Comments:  This study drives home the extreme importance of regular exercise. The good news is that, brisk walking 20 minutes per day can go a long way to support lasting health.  Walking has been shown to reduce to risk of premature death by as much as 30%.
